That gap is not a technology problem.
Earlier this year IBM asked 2,000 CEOs and senior leaders across 33 geographies whether their people had the skills to collaborate with AI. 86 percent said yes. The same executives, in the same survey, put the share of their workforce actually using AI regularly at 25 percent.
The tools went out to everyone and stopped with the people who were always going to use them. You know who those people are. Everyone else is harder to see, and easy to mistake for resistance. Nobody has shown them what AI does for the job they actually have.
Sixty minutes, with live polls and open Q&A
- Why AI adoption stalls at the enthusiasts, and what the other 75 percent are actually doing
- Why culture, mindset and skills all have to move together, and what happens when only one of them does
- What it actually takes to get the rest of your workforce building, and what the first 90 days look like
Anyone accountable for whether AI actually gets used. Whoever owns AI adoption in your company, wherever that sits, alongside the L&D, HR and organizational design leaders who have to carry it to everyone else. If that is two different people at your company, come together. The conversation is more useful when both halves are in the room.

Brian Reaves
Founder & CEO, Belonging Intelligence
Brian has spent over two decades in technology, from software engineer at Xerox to CEO, CTO and chief belonging officer, bringing an engineering mindset to cultural and operational transformation. Today he works with companies where AI reached everyone and stopped with a handful. He built the AI Impact Network to fix that: cohort-based micro-learning that pairs AI capability with cultural intelligence, the skill of reading who an answer works for and who it quietly leaves out. It runs on the Hive Learning platform, and it is built to reach the people a pilot never touches.
Laura Keith
CEO, Hive Learning & Kento
Laura Keith has spent her career on one question: how do you get a whole workforce to change how it works, not just the keen few? As CEO of Hive Learning she helped some of the world's largest employers build new skills and shift behaviour at scale through peer-led micro learning. She then led Kento, Hive's AI business, putting engineers side by side with frontline teams to build AI agents around the work people actually do. That put her right where AI meets real people: watching enthusiasts race ahead while everyone else waits to be shown it is safe, useful and theirs. Today she leads transformation at Agilisys, where she is taking that lesson into UK public services and helping organisations move from pockets of experimentation to AI that everyone builds with. She brings the view from the front line and a bold, practical case for what HR and L&D leaders can do to bring the other 80% with them.
